ABOUT
Community Directions is a neighbourhood-based initiative coordinated by REACH Edmonton. It aims to promote safety and well-being through community informed and community driven initiatives.
REACH supports the convening of community partners, the encouragement of activation and collaboration, and the facilitation of dialogue around safety and vibrancy issues in communities within Edmonton.
Partners we seek to convene in community driven projects include community members, community leagues, businesses, service providers, social service agencies, Edmonton Police Service, City departments, Councillors and MLA representatives.
OUTCOMES
- Increased connectivity between residents, community groups, businesses, agencies, enforcement, governments and experts.
- Increased capacity for community driven safety and vibrancy initiatives.
- Common points of reference and resources for community members.
- More democratic and inclusive process through broader engagement and increased online accessibility.
- A network of Edmonton community safety councils that share ideas about community driven safety and vibrancy initiatives.
- Communities develop an understanding of their capacity to address manageable to complex community issues
